Kitchen Assistant 

Pay: From $12.00 per hour

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dependable Kitchen Assistant to support daily meal preparation and food service operations for a community nutrition program serving older adults in Monongalia County.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals according to established menus and recipes

  • Assist with meal assembly for on-site dining and delivery programs

  • Ensure proper portioning, quality, and presentation of food

  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, dishes, and work areas

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines

  • Organize and maintain storage areas

  • Receive and check deliveries; report any discrepancies

  • Label, date, and rotate inventory using FIFO methods

  • Attend required trainings and meetings

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and write in English for communication and safety

  • Basic knowledge of measurements and portion sizes

  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions

  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently

  • Food Handler’s Card (or willingness to obtain; employer-paid)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

  • Ability to stand and work in a kitchen environment for extended periods

Additional Requirements

  • Follow all safety procedures and use protective equipment as required

  • Maintain confidentiality of client and organizational information

Home Delivered Meals Driver 
Location: 5000 Greenbag Rd, Ste A5, Morgantown, WV 26501
Pay: From $12.00 per hour
Position Overview
Senior Monongalians, Inc. is seeking a dependable and safety-focused driver to deliver meals to community sites and homebound clients. This role is essential in supporting nutrition services for older adults in the area.
Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver packaged meals to satellite locations and homebound clients

  • Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained during transport

  • Follow safe and sanitary food handling practices

  • Maintain vehicles in clean and safe operating condition

  • Report maintenance or safety issues promptly to the supervisor

  • Handle and submit collected payments to designated personnel

  • Complete errands such as bank deposits, mail pickup, and donation pickups as needed

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record

  • Basic knowledge of vehicle operation and maintenance

  • Ability to follow directions and work independently

Interpersonal Skills

  • Professional and respectful communication with clients, staff, and the public

  • Strong work ethic and reliability

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of client and organizational information

Physical & Additional Requirements

  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds

  • Willingness to complete required trainings

  • Ability to use provided protective equipment

  • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed

Schedule

  • Part-time

  • Evening and weekend availability may be required

This position reports to the Transportation Supervisor and Executive Director.
